We typically house between twenty to thirty equines at the rescue at any given time. Because it is the nature of rescue, the faces often change quickly as horses leave to foster or adoptive homes, and new rescue intakes arrive for rehabilitation or training. We will periodically update the horses here, but apologize in advance that this page may not always be current. If you are interested in adopting or fostering a particular horse, please mention it by name when you send in your adoption application. If you are already an approved applicant, please contact us to inquire about the availability of a specific horse. To make it easier for you, the horses are broken into separate categories.
Lil is 7 yrs. old, 16 H, goes English and Western, and has experience on the trails, fox hunts, obstacles and arena work. She has been a favorite mount in our summer camps.
Shadow's sweet, calm temperament make her a popular volunteer choice for camps, trail riding and arena work. Solid foundation ready to develop your way.
10 yr. old Lady has experience as a lead line pony in shows and parades, and has been receiving training for solo riding.
Sia goes well both English and Western. She is 10 yrs. old, 15.3 H and excels in flat work. She would make a nice entry level dressage prospect.
5 yr. old Hombre rides and drives. He is a willing partner that would be a good first show or gaming pony.
15 yr. old Xercies is beginner friendly - a good guest or husband horse. He does have anhidrosis, and would be best living further north.
At 8 yrs old and 14.3 H, Jude has a solid foundation on the ground and under saddle. He is ready to develop the way you want.
4 yr old, 14 H Tahini is ready to shine in the show ring or on the trail. He is calm and easy going with a willing temperament.
Most of these horses and ponies are available for adoption, foster or foster-to-train. Foals are available for adoption only to homes with training experience, but must remain with their dams until weaning at 7 months. (Dams may be fostered with their adopted babies until weaning age.)
We have a number of equines that, for one reason or another, are unadoptable and will most likely live their lives out in sanctuary. Some of them are the stars of our popular social media series "As the Barn Turns"...but all of them have special places in our hearts. It would not be possible to maintain our sanctuary without the support of our donors. Please consider becoming a monthly sponsor for a sanctuary horse!
